Boot/ Ski Work
Jeff began working on ski equipment in 1987 after he discovered his ski boots were not performing they way he thought they should and could. He worked/ studied/ stalked numerous boot specialists around the country, in order to learn the trade. Most notable was his apprenticeship with Paul Jankauskas, who at the time was one of the premier alignment specialists in the world. Jeff also studied with Pat Morrissey, who pioneered much of what has become modern World Cup ski tuning technique. Boot Fixation was founded in 1996.
Ski Racing/ Coaching
Jeff began teaching skiing in 1986 and taught for six seasons. He attained his Level II (then called Associate Level) in his third season, but took up racing, boot work and ski work before going for his Level III. Much of Jeff’s coaching has focused on using race techniques to improve free skiers. Jeff continues his unique instruction style today. When Jeff was racing, he specialized in GS and became a regional masters GS champion. He began coaching in 1995, and ran the A-Basin masters spring racing program for ten seasons. Much of this programs focus was on bringing racing skills to non racers.
