History

Jeff started skiing in 1985 and loved it immediately. He felt it was as fun as motocross, and girls actually liked it. He decided to become a "world class" skier. To improve his skills, Jeff began ski instructing in New Jersey then moved to  Vermont, Washington and Colorado. He discovered that his feet and ski boots limited his development and set out to fix the issues.

The roots of Boot Fixation started as Jeff kept seeing that many, if not most, of his students also needed help with their ski boots. Very often he could achieve more with a skier with twenty minutes of ski boot work than with multiple ski lessons. This convinced him to switch his focus to ski boot alignment (and fitting) and he began working with a number of the top ski boot people of the time, including Paul Jankauskas and the Lange reps for the US Ski Team. To test his developments, he began ski racing in 1992.

While the combination of working on ski boots and racing was a big change (and humbling in the beginning), it led to Jeff developing a following as a boot fitter - especially with ski boot alignment and body mechanics. He also became a dominant local ski racer, a regional masters racing champion, and a ski coach (eventually running the A-Basin spring masters camps). In 1996, he opened Boot Fixation with the goal of providing world class ski boot alignment and fitting to skiers of all abilities. He quickly established a national reputation in ski boot alignment and was featured in a number of articles in ski magazines and newspapers.

Jeff has most recently completed his Pedorthic Pre-Certification and will take the Board Certification Exam in early 2012.
